Civic Centre Boulevard Roundabout and Gateway Streetscape

The Kleingers Group worked in conjunction with both West Chester Township as well as the Butler County Engineers Office in a unique design process which included a variety of collaboration and design review meetings to ensure all parties were able to have input into the design.

The project included a 1,900’ extension of Civic Centre Boulevard to the intersection of Allen Road with Windisch Road including a roundabout intersection to service the mixed-use development adjacent to the new roadway, improvements at Windisch Road including a turn lane on Allen Road, and a new traffic signal, right-of-way plans, landscaping, entrance features, street, and intersection lighting, and 1,900’ of new 12” water main. The roadway extension, improvements, and roundabout design continue the Streets of West Chester streetscaping elements to improve the overall appearance of the public facility. Landscaping and irrigation are provided in the medians, roundabout and roundabout splitters, and tree lawn areas are along with the Civic Centre Boulevard extension. All work was coordinated with proposed utilities and future development.

As part of the design process, The Kleingers Group used real-time 3D models to allow the city to view the design concepts from every angle possible while making real-time changes.
